Steven B. Sperber, Esq.

Steven B. Sperber is a founding partner of the firm with four decades and more than 1,000 trials of courtroom experience. He directs the firm’s aggressive real estate and landlord/tenant litigation practice. Mr. Sperber is one of the most respected and talented trial attorneys practicing before the Housing Court, Civil Court, and Supreme Court in the State of New York as well as other states around the country.

His skills and reputation have proven to be a great asset to the firm and to his clients. Mr. Sperber has become the attorney for attorneys in that many of New York City’s largest and most respected law firms rely on Mr. Sperber as trial counsel for their real estate litigation. Mr. Sperber has extensive experience representing owners and tenants in commercial and residential nonpayment and holdover proceedings. He has successfully litigated hundreds of non-primary residence proceedings, owner use proceedings, nuisance proceedings, Airbnb proceedings, sublet and assignment cases, and commercial nonpayment and holdover proceedings. Further, he has argued numerous appeals before the Appellate Term and Appellate Division.In addition, Mr. Sperber handles a wide variety of general real estate litigation including contract disputes between buyers and sellers, landowners and their neighbors, and partners and/or shareholders of ownership entities holding title to real estate. Mr. Sperber also maintains an active real estate practice handling negotiations and drafting of commercial leases, together with a closing practice representing Buyers and Sellers of real property. Mr. Sperber’s representation ranges across the board, representing both Landlords and Tenants, Purchasers and Sellers, lessors and Lessees, Plaintiffs and Defendants. He is formerly a member of the Housing Court Advisory Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, has guest lectured on a number of occasions, and is often called upon by other members of the Bar and the judiciary for his opinions on issues affecting both the court system and the real estate industry as a whole.Mr. Sperber received his J.D. from the Western New England School of Law and his B.A. from the State University of New York at New Paltz, where he graduated Cum Laude.
